Essay 2-01a: My Room

My favorite place is my room. I like to relax in my room. In my room, there are desk, closet, bed, the sofa, mirror, and shelves. I like my bed and sofa. It is very important for me. I often just lie about in my room doing nothing on Sunday morning. I like sleeping. I often sleep 10 more hours in weekend. My bed is very comfortable. When I am relaxing in my room, I always use aroma diffuser. I like eucalyptus oil and tea seed oil.

When I in my room, I listen to music. While listening to music, I read my favorite magazine on sofa. It is my favorite time. I always listen to rock music. I listen to Western music and Japanese music. I display many CDs of my favorite. For example, I like PUFFY, sakanaction, Asian Kung-fu Generation, The Bawdies, Kimura Kaera, Lady Gaga, and so on. It makes me fun. I like my collection. These days, I don't buy CDs. I want to buy CD sometimes. 

I have many pierced earrings. I like to collect it. When I go to shopping, I often by some pierced earrings. It is very important accessories as well as clothes. I choose pierces to fit my clothes. I like pearl accessary. I have some pearl pierces. I bought it Urban Research. It is my favorite shop. There are many accessories. I often buy bless and pierces there. There are many kinds of accessories. When I choose pierces at shop, I am exciting so much. I want to buy it more.   

On my bed, I put on some stuffed animals. I love NICI's stuffed animal. It is very cute, soft and comfortable. NICI is German company. It is loved by many people in the world. I have NICI's stuffed animal rabbit, alligator, and bear. It is very very cute. My mother bought me it when I was a elementary school student. It became older, but I think it is precious things for me. 

My room is my best relax space. But, I am not good at clean the room. I often scattered my clothes, magazines, textbooks, cosmetics, and so on. I want to keep my room clean. I have to put in order diligently every day.

Essay 1-03a: My Language Learning Story and Plans

10 years ago when I was 9 years old. I had not learned English yet at school. I sometimes went to English conversation school with my brothers. I learned greeting and songs there. I enjoyed singing English songs. 5 years ago when I was 14 years old. I started learning English at junior high school. In there, read English textbooks, learning English grammar, and sometimes communicate with ALT who native English teacher. When I was a junior high school student, I wanted to learn English more. I was interested in English. In high school, English class became high level, and I went into a slump. I didn't like to take English classes, because I couldn't understand English words and grammar. My grades were getting worse. I was very shocked, and I made up my mind to study English. After that, I studied hard. I memorized English words and grammar every day. I could understand English step by step. Furthermore, I could keep up with English class. My grades improved slowly. I enjoyed studying. I thought that I want to be a good English speaker in the future, and I decided to major in English at university. Now, I major in English in University. I want to grow my English skills more. I study English at school and at home everyday. I am listening English music, writing a blog in English, reading books written in English. I enjoy studying English. I try to talk some students studying abroad. It is a little difficult for me to communicate with them, but I want to speak English well. I keep trying it. Also, I like to listen English radio on my iPhone. I often listen American rock channel. It is very interesting for me. After I graduate university, I want to get a job what uses English. So, I need to study English more. I want to grow speaking and listening skill. I think it is very important to communicate with foreigners. I want to teach English conversation to children in the future. It is my dream. I enjoy my life with English! I should to grow my skills more!

Essay 1-01a Letter to My Host Family

Hello, I’m Ai. Please call me “Ai”. I’m nineteen years old. I go to KGU. I belong to English and American studies department. I like to learn English. When I was a high school student, I decided to major in English. I want to learn more deeply. I want to come to speak English well. Please tell me a lot of things.

My hobby is shopping, because I like fashion. I often go shopping with my friends or boyfriend, and look for clothes. I spend a lot of time to go shopping, going to cafes, or on a drive, on the weekend. If you come to Kumamoto, I’ll take you to my favorite café. I want to visit cafe in America too!! Please take me.

Also, I like to listening music. My favorite artists are “The Beatles”, “REDHOTCHILIPEPPERS”, and “Lady Gaga”. I have listened to this music since my childhood.

I’ll tell you about my family. I have my parents and two little brothers. My father is an elementary school teacher. He works at Onoue elementary school. His hobby is running. My mother is an office worker. My mother and I are very close. We always talk about love and so on. My brothers play baseball. I like baseball too. I want to go a stadium and watch major league game. Do you like baseball? If you like it, I want you to take me stadium.

Do you like Japanese food? I can cook Japanese dishes, so I want to cook for you! I have a lot of things that I want to do in America. I want to make foreign friends, because I think they will become my teachers of English and university life. I want to spend good school days, with friends.

This is my first visit to America. I’m worried about many things. I must get used to English spoken by native speakers. Please tell me about American culture and manners. I want to learn about American life style and culture. I am a little anxious, but I hope to spend a good time in America.
